Sonnet Sundays (on a Thursday) The Self Righteous

Leave it to the hypocrites to stand tall
Unturned noses passing judgment on all
The sister can smoke a joint around kids
But s husband drinks only God forbids
One can be forgiven and then welcome
The other forsaken and treated so dumb
Family comes first no one gets left behind
Except for him, he’s not part of your kind
He’s only good when he has some money
Stealing his family wasn’t funny
Holidays taken and your vows broken
One must ask, “what the hell are you smokin”
Questioning and persecuting his wife
Acting like you were better at life
Can’t figure out why people treat him wise
Because people can see through your disguise
All our woes become all his blame
Repeatedly it’s the same game
Constantly his family hears your whines
Why don’t you grow up and get some damn spines
You don’t understand him and yet you mock
He’s not a mindless sheep like all your flock
Take advantage of his bad luck
He’s sick of all your shit, you stupid fuck
Remember the pendulum swings both ways
So, relax and enjoy your numbered days
