Sonnet Sunday's: Rose Colored Glasses

Can’t look at the world with rose colored glasses

Or make decisions slower than molasses

Our world is filled up with such trouble and pain

Driving all of us to the point we’re insane

There are no heroes in this our day and age

Climbing to the top, who has the better rage

Divorce is common, it’s an everyday thing

Insensitive ears, we can’t hear the angels sing

I cannot believe that chivalry is dead

Our one concern is that the big dogs are fed

We all keep clawing away to reach the top

Waiting to see who will be the next to drop

I can’t believe in the vile-natured masses

Missing my short time with rose colored glasses
